July — Month 7
Pick pistol, rifle, shotgun, or all three — whatever fits the session.
Pistol — Movement
Setup: Open lane with two marked positions a few steps apart, target(s) downrange.
Beginner
Shoot from position A, then physically walk to position B and shoot again. No par time, no shooting while your feet are moving. 4 rounds per rep, 5 reps = 20 rounds.
Intermediate
Fire rounds while walking toward the target, then fire more rounds while walking backward away from it. 4 rounds per rep, 5 reps = 20 rounds.
Advanced
Move sideways (laterally) while shooting, and switch which target you're engaging partway through the movement. 6 rounds per rep, 5 reps = 30 rounds.
Checklist
- Eye protection (one per shooter)
- Ear protection (one per shooter)
- 1–2 targets (cardboard or rated AR500 steel)
- Tape to mark center-mass/head boxes
- Tape or cones to mark movement lane/positions
- Target stand(s)
- Shot timer

- Ammo: 20 / 20 / 30 rounds per shooter (Beg / Int / Adv)
Rifle (AR-15) — Positional Shooting
Setup: One target at 25–50 yards, open ground for kneeling/sitting/prone.
Beginner
Fire from a kneeling position, no par time, focus on stability. 5 rounds per rep, 5 reps = 25 rounds.
Intermediate
Fire from sitting and prone positions, no par time. 5 rounds per rep, 5 reps = 25 rounds.
Advanced
Move between kneeling, prone, and standing mid-string, within a par time. 8 rounds per rep, 5 reps = 40 rounds.

Intermediate
Fire from sitting and prone positions, no par time. 3 rounds per rep, 5 reps = 15 rounds.
Advanced
Move between kneeling, prone, and standing mid-string, within a par time. 4 rounds per rep, 5 reps = 20 rounds.

Bonus — One-Handed Rifle Manipulation
Pairs naturally with this month's pistol one-handed work: same concept, rifle platform.
Setup: One target at 15–25 yards.
Beginner
Fire a slow group using only the strong hand, rifle braced against the body, no par time.
Intermediate
Fire, then perform a one-handed reload (bracing the rifle against a barricade or the body if needed), fire again. Par time.
Advanced
Full one-handed cycle: fire, malfunction clear, reload, fire — all one-handed, within a par time.
