Module 3 + First Tactical 9×6: Wound Care Meets Modular Organization

One of the reasons I've enjoyed putting this First Tactical series together is that their approach to organizing gear fits naturally with the way I designed IFAK360. IFAK360 separates medical supplies into modules based on capability, while First Tactical gives you organizer pouches that can be configured within their bags and backpacks based on what you actually carry.

Module 3: Wound Closure & Minor Trauma
Module 3 is built around wound closure and minor trauma, and there's a reason it follows Module 2: Irrigation & Wound Prep. Module 2 gives you the supplies to clean and prepare a wound, while Module 3 provides the next set of tools for appropriate minor wound management after you've cleaned the wound and gotten a better look at what you're dealing with.
The bigger idea is organization. When I'm looking for wound closure and minor trauma supplies, I don't want to dig through an entire medical bag looking for individual items. I'm looking for the green Module 3. The related supplies stay together, and the color tells me which capability I'm reaching for.
Having closure supplies doesn't mean every wound should be closed. Sometimes cleaning a wound reveals that it's deeper, dirtier, or more complicated than it first appeared, and getting additional medical evaluation is the better choice. The module gives you a capability, but you still have to understand when that capability is appropriate.

Why the First Tactical 9×6?
For Module 3, I'm pairing it with First Tactical's 9 X 6 Internal Organizer Pouch. At approximately 9 × 6 × 2 inches, it has a see-through micro-mesh face, light-colored interior, and First Tactical's Quick Pull zipper system for one-handed opening.
The micro-mesh face works particularly well with the color-coded IFAK360 system because the green Module 3 remains easy to identify inside the organizer. Instead of opening several pouches looking for wound-care supplies, you can see the module and know what capability is there.
Those are simple features, but that's what I want from good organization. The pouch doesn't make the medical decisions for you. It helps you identify and access the equipment you've already decided to carry.

Modular Inside Modular
Think about a toolbox with removable trays. The tools are organized by what they do, while the trays give those groups of tools a dedicated place inside the larger toolbox.
That's essentially how these two products work together. Module 3 is the organized set of medical tools. The First Tactical 9×6 is the tray. Your First Tactical bag or backpack becomes the larger toolbox.
That also means you're not locked into one particular carrying setup. Someone building a patrol bag may organize things differently than someone building a range, vehicle, camping, or overlanding setup.
