Module 4 + First Tactical 6×6: Small Supplies, One Organized Place

Over the past several weeks, I've been showing different ways IFAK360 medical modules can be organized inside First Tactical pouches and bags. The idea behind the series has been simple: First Tactical provides the carrying system, while IFAK360 provides the medical and trauma capabilities that go inside it. They build the system. We fill it.

For this final installment in our First Tactical series, we're pairing IFAK360 Module 4 Medication & Hydration with the First Tactical 6 X 6 Internal Organizer Pouch. It's a simple pairing, but it demonstrates something I've emphasized throughout this series. A good medical setup isn't just about how much equipment you can carry. It's about organizing that equipment so you can identify what you need and get to it without digging through everything else.

Small Supplies Need a Defined Place

Medication and hydration supplies can create an organization problem inside a larger medical bag. Packets of common over-the-counter medications, glucose tablets, oral rehydration products, and other small supplies don't require much room individually, but they can easily become scattered among everything else. That's one reason I designed IFAK360 as a modular system.

Module 4 keeps the medication and hydration capability together inside one clearly labeled package. Instead of searching through several pockets, you can identify the yellow Medication & Hydration label and know which capability you're grabbing. Keeping those supplies together also makes routine inspection easier. You can periodically open the module, check expiration dates and packaging, replace what you've used, and become familiar with the contents before you actually need them. The goal isn't simply to carry supplies. It's to know what you have and where to find it.

Visibility Outside, Organization Inside

The First Tactical 6 X 6 Internal Organizer Pouch measures 6 inches by 6 inches by 2 inches and is designed for organizing smaller gear, including medical equipment. Its hook-and-loop attachment allows it to become a removable organizer within a compatible larger carrying system.

What I particularly like about the 6×6 for medical organization is the visibility. The clear micro-mesh face lets you identify what's inside without opening the pouch, while the light-colored interior helps make equipment easier to locate. First Tactical also uses its Quick Pull zipper design for one-handed opening. Those features fit naturally with the philosophy behind the IFAK360 modules: see it, identify it, and access it.

The outer organizer gives Module 4 a defined location within the larger bag, while Module 4 keeps the individual supplies organized inside that space. It's essentially modular organization inside modular organization.

Build the System Around How You Use It

There isn't one correct way to build a medical bag. A vehicle kit may be organized differently than one carried by a law enforcement officer, firefighter, overlander, K9 handler, or family. The equipment you carry should reflect the problems you're reasonably preparing to handle and where you expect to use it.

A larger First Tactical bag can provide the carrying platform, internal organizer pouches can divide that space into recognizable sections, and IFAK360 modules can provide specific medical capabilities within those sections. With Module 4 and the 6×6, medication and hydration supplies get their own identifiable place instead of disappearing throughout the rest of the bag.

Closing Out the Series

This is the final installment in our current IFAK360 + First Tactical series. Throughout the series, we've paired IFAK360 modules with different First Tactical organizers to demonstrate how a modular medical system can be built around the person carrying it rather than forcing everyone into one fixed configuration.

That's also the idea I want to leave you with as we close out the series. Decide what capabilities you need, give those capabilities a logical place, learn where everything is, and periodically open your kit to make sure it's still ready. The best medical setup isn't necessarily the one carrying the most equipment. It's the one you understand before you need it.
